Every kpop news site writing about it, speculating, other fandoms are all paying attention. Everyone and their mama got an opinion. Which contract renewal has the kpop fandom like this? Ever? Anyway idc if they stay in YG or not. People think its a money thing, and yeah, YG probably can’t afford them, but i think YG has also limited them and turned down a lot of opportunities for them. I think at this point i would assume its less about the money and more about having the freedom to do activities that they really want to do. Tho i will say blinks, mostly solo stans spreading misinformation is very annoying lol

I don't know why some ppl fear they will disband, it's in YG and the girls best interest to continue as a group and they can only do that under YG b/c they own the name brand and discography. As for their solo activities, that's a different story. I believe they will not have an exclusive contract with YG in this regard and it is the reason why negotiations have taken so long. YG only has one top group to support over the years, which they can barely do due to mismanagement, and as a result the girls solo careers have suffered, so it's only in their best interest that they sign with another company who can give each of them more focus.

Contract update should be by the end of this month. I don’t think they can postpone it any longer then the new year.

Blackpink should leverage their brand name right now, before they die out in the popular vernacular. Going solo is never effective for a K-pop group!

Lisa is more focused on European market now, with her relationship with Frederick from LVMH. I doubt Korea is still her main focus

YG has been very terrible at managing, odds for renewal is very low from my POV

JISOO is queen - she has top tier brand ambassadorships from Dior, Cartier, Dyson, Alo Yoga I hope she never leaves Blackpink 😭
